So... Ava is dying.. is there any hope?

On Fridays cliff hanger we were all left with our jaws dropped and our mouths hung wide open as we took in the horrible news that Silas gave Ava.. he told her she is dying. To may of our disbelief in the GHU group and on our radio show this past Saturday night, we all came up with every scenario possible that would make this untrue. The best one being that this was a stunt that Silas came up with to gain her pity and spare Ava a prison sentence and ultimately reunite her with adorable baby Avery. This scenario came crumbling down on Mondays episode when Silas told Ava she is in fact REALLY dying from a advance stage of Cancer. As Silas went on and on about her death sentence my heart broke for her more and more. Maura West put on a heart wrenching absolutely believable performance as her character tried to process all this horrible news Silas threw at her. As Ava grasped for straws asking about any possible solution, Silas shattered every ounce of hope including a possible donor match, leaving Ava with no options as far as we know at this point.

Here are my thoughts. I find it very hard to believe our beloved Ava's time in Port Charles is about to end. The writers would be foolish to not have Maura West on their payroll for years to come. Ava has plenty of room for many story lines. I just don't see them being done with her anytime soon. She has a baby to raise, a daughter (that I still don't believe is hers) to be there for, people that love her, a spark that's undeniable between her and Silas to explore and much more. Not to mention Maura is a brilliant actress. Besides, what would Port Charles do with out their devilish mob queen?

According to the spoilers on Soap Zone the say

"Silas gives Ava a death sentence in the form of a fatal diagnosis. Maybe. There’s a sliver a hope"

Which makes me think there in face is some hope! I guess we will all have to stay tuned to see what happens, but I am pretty sure we will be able to reverse this death sentance.
