Soap Star Styles: Fashion Forward or Fashion Fail

Welcome back to your favorite General Hospital fashion source!! We’re gonna take this piece somewhere a little different…We’re uncensored right? And the majority of the time we don’t want to shop the clothes, we want to TALK about the clothes! I will highlight my top three best and worst looks of the week, plus give you my Muse of the Week, every week!

Sabrina Santiago #FAIL !

Ok, let’s get to it. The fashion on General Hospital this week was so on trend and gorgeous that I gave myself a literal migraine trying to pick my fav! That being said, it was SUPER easy to pic the Fashion Fails. Sabrina Santiago kicks my list off. Don’t kill me ok? Sabrina is so pretty and has a beautiful body. Do I think she should walk around with her tits out? No…But, I would love to see her sex it up a bit; maybe in an understated way. But definitely not understated to the point of frumpy. That matching tank and cardigan? #FashionFail. The color was lovely on her, but if you’re gonna be a nanny, at least be a hot one.

Kiki Jerome #FAIL

Kiki Jerome can always be counted on to receive the fashion wrath. I sighed with disappointment every time she graced the screen this week, and not just because of her acting. “KaKa”, as she’s been lovingly named by a fellow GHU Groupie, wore a loose fitting flower pattern shirt, simple close fitting jeans, earrings and that God-awful chain. She looked like a cross between Ke$ha (in her more hippie phase) and Fergie (in her all the time phase). #FashionFail. Honey, pick one damn style and go with it. I wish they stylists would dress her more like an adult, and less like a Disney star trying to play an adult.

Ellie Trout #FAIL

My final and by far the WORST #FashionFail of the week is…Miss Ellie Trout. Oh. My. God. The dress she wore was horribly frumpy, shapeless and boring. I would not cover my coffee table with it. I would, however, clean up red wine with it. Then burn it. Ellie is thin, and she looked like she was a child in her outfit. It did nothing to create any illusion of a shape for her…decent boobs though. The color was very spring like, but the pattern made her look like she was either going to bed, or going to the farm. She looked like she got turned around on her way to the little house on the prairie and accidentally landed in Port Charles.

Carly Jacks #FASHIONFORWARD

Now onto the best of the week! I’m starting my list with my girl, Ms. Carly Corinthos-Jax. She has never been one to disappoint. Carly usually pairs bold, beautiful colors with simple neutrals and this week, she continued this classic, always #FashionForward trend by pairing a black skirt & blue (hugging all those curves I might add) with a long sleeved, loose fitted silk blouse in the most stunning shade of Royal Blue I think I’ve ever seen! Carly SLAYS in this blouse! She keeps her jewelry simple but pretty enough to catch your eye. It adds to the outfit instead of being to clunky…Kiki, take notes.

Maxie James #FASHIONFORWARD

I adore Maxi Jones. She looked beautiful this week. I identify most with Maxi’s styles. Her look is perfect, because it is young and fresh, but she also doesn’t look like she shops at Wet Seal. It’s like a casual sheek look. At the beginning of this week, we see Maxi and Spinelli at home. She is wearing a hot pink, loose fitting (noticing a pattern this season?) long sleeved sheer blouse. Underneath she dons a white tank, gray skinny fit jeans, and white patent leather stilettos. I just about lost my shit when I saw those shoes. I am almost 5’ 10’’, but I will wear a stiletto in a minute! Now this outfit is one of the most #FashionForward simply because it’s bold. Maxie has mixed TWO neutral colors with a bold. We automatically assume that she is wearing 3 colors. Technically she is wearing only one color. DON’T BE AFRAID TO MIX YOUR NEUTRALS! You will still match…really.

Nina Clay #FASHIONFORWARD

The time has come! My Muse of the Week is also the most personally appreciated fashion transformation of the show. I got my entire life this week because of one woman. Nina Clay. Ok, before we even get to the clothes can we talk about THAT COAT?! The beige trench that Nina wore was just perfect. Perfect fit, perfect length, perfect color, PERFECT! Then she took it off. I was a little sad, not gonna lie, until I saw what was underneath. Nina Clay gave serious BODY in her Red and Beige/sheer dress. It was knee length and fitted at the waist and flared out toward the bottom. Nina paired the dress with nude cutout sandals. That dress fit her like a glove. It looked like they poured the fabric onto her. Her makeup was also nude. She looked younger and brighter. She changed clothes toward the middle of the week and I died all over again. Nina’s navy blue mock wrap sleeved dress was my favorite #FashionForward look. It had geometric print along the chest area and the bottom, towards the hem line. The print contained more bold colors, with a hint of bright pink. (Note to you: If you don’t own bright pink, go get some) She looked stunning and not the least bit crazy. At least not when it comes to fashion.

I hope you enjoyed the rundown of our favorite Soap Star Styles! Let me know what you think about what the stars wore! Comment Below!
