Hey fashonistas and welcome back to your favorite place to read all things GH fashion! If you’re anything like me, you were completely pissed at the end of the show. General Hospital had an amazing year and definitely got the shit end of the deal. We laughed (at Franco mostly), we cried (for damn near everybody) and we were appalled (in a good way. Crypt sex anyone?) Thank GOD we didn’t get shit fashion…well, not completely anyway. Can we just take a second first though and give it up for Kelly Thiebaud and THOSE SHOES? If you are even half the shoe whore that I am, you just about died when you saw the rhinestone encrusted, five strap, black stiletto sandals that she wore. Usually I don’t admit this, but I was jealous as hell. LOL Ok, now that I got that out, here we go

.

My first #fashionfail of the Emmys is Maura West (Ava Jerome). I had to put her here and it’s leaving an awful feeling in my stomach because Maura West usually impresses us. We all screamed when she won BUT, this year’s awards outfit was a serious disappointment to me. Maura wore a tea length (hits mid to ¾ calf), black halter dress with a high/low hemline. The open detail in the chest area gave the dress a little bit of personality. The hemline of the dress had a weird flower detail. Paired with the dress were simple, strappy black sandals. I’m so sorry, but I just did not like this on her. It looked like something I could pick up at my local mall if I was in a hurry. It had no real shape and honestly didn’t flatter the beautiful body that she has; it may have looked different on someone curvier. I love her, but my tip for Maura West would be to embrace her character in real life next year. Ms. West should have picked a length and stuck with it; thumbs down to the hemline. I hated it.

Kelly Monaco (Sam Morgan) probably had the most controversial look over in General Hospital Uncensored, according to our groupies. Either you loved it or you didn’t. I honestly am on the fence about it. The long sleeved, high neckline dress was daring, to say the least. Very plain except the brilliant white beadwork against the open right hip. The beads were my favorite part; classic black and white contrast is always the right way to go. However, Kelly looked like she was at the wrong event. She should’ve been dancing with Max on DWTS instead of posing for a red carpet. I totally expected her to start doing the Salsa. It was SUPER fitted, almost borderline skanky and looked like it was made for dancing. I wanted her to tone down the sex and turn up the class for this event. I don’t have a problem with the open hip, but a floor length gown would have made the overall look a lot more subtle. Even though, she makes the #fashionfail list, I applaud her for her bold choice. She most definitely has the body for it. And that slick ponytail with a middle part? Gorgeous.

Finishing off my Emmy #fashionfail list is Donna Mills. WAIT!! Don’t kill me please! You’re absolutely crazy if you think I’m talking about that white dress she wore on stage. She looked amazing. Who knew Donna Mills had a body like that? What I’m referring to is that black skirt suit. WTF was with that sparkly pattern, dude? I’m not even sure what the hell that pattern was. The fit of her suit was perfect but to me, she looked like she was on her way to church with her grandchildren, or the Love Boat, not like she was about to nab an Emmy. I am NOT even trying to hear it about her age….whatever. That argument is smashed to hell all because of that sheer and white masterpiece she wore to accept her award. She did this to herself, people. Donna Mills, do better. Love ya, mean it!

Alright, now for my favorite looks. It was so HARD to narrow it down to three because most of the cast showed up and showed out! But here we go. Always #fashionforward, Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos-Jax) kicks my list off. I love love LOVE this look! The elegant, white, spaghetti strapped maxi dress was a perfect look for her. The dress was only slightly sheer which maintained the graceful, elegant look. It was simple and almost looked like it was draped over her body then turned into a dress. Her hair was beautiful! It had a softness and fullness that I’d like to see more of on her. If you are looking for a dress to make you look 5’9’’ like Cindy Crawford, this is it. The way the dress falls, adds height to the overall look. Laura looked like a Grecian Goddess bride in this dress, and the contrast of the pure white gown on the red carpet was spectacular. I’d marry her. LOL, real shit though.

My second choice is Lisa Locicero (Olivia Falconeri). I am SO happy that she showed off those glorious, pregnant curves!! Lisa wore a very fitted, deep blue-gray, mock wrap ankle length gown that featured very flattering rouching through the bust. To finish the look, Lisa wore silver strappy sandals. I am impressed that she didn’t wobble like a Weeble in those shoes because that could’ve went all the way wrong. (Trust me, I know. LOL) I’m obsessed with maternity fashion. Why? Because pregnant women deserve to look sexy too, how do you think they got that way in the first damn place? Pregnancy should be celebrated, not hidden. And though I understand why they do it on the show, I just cringed every time I saw her in black with a long sweater. This look screams #fashionforward because it’s a pretty bold maternity look. The color complimented her skin perfectly and she didn’t shy away from the fit. If I was her baby, I would’ve been super happy to be in that gown with Mommy at the Emmys. She was glowing (shout out to the “beacon of light boobs”) and I think she’s never looked better. That gown was made for her.

I finally present to you, my Fashion Muse…..Miss Haley Pullos (Molly Davis-Lansing). Ummm, can we just say “Holy Cleavage”! Excuse us ma’am but where the HELL did all that come from?! Haley looked absolutely remarkable in a mauve/nude, chiffon, accordion pleated floor length gown. Her gown had a deep sweetheart neckline, and the beadwork on the bodice put Kelly Monaco’s wimpy (but pretty) beads to shame. This gown was very tastefully done. Haley’s choice is #fashionforward because it highlighted her best features and didn’t distract too much from her beautiful face. It was fitted in the top and loose and flowy at the bottom. She looked like a princess. Haley wore her hair in soft curls around her face, kind of half up half down. This was Haley’s coming out red carpet for me because this is her best look to date. Guess Molly’s the hot one now Sam…

Ok, folks. I’ve broken my heart all for the name of fashion. But I’d rather give it to you straight then have you looking crazy out here LOL. As always, let me know what you think! Do you agree? What were some of your favorites? Come back soon for the rundown on this week’s General Hospital fashion!
