Hello and welcome back to your favorite place to check out all things General Hospital fashion! So this week, we saw a few cute looks, but who really cares what anyone wore Monday through Thursday? That’s what I though… I waited all week for the Nurse’s Ball red carpet and, well… Just keep reading. We’re jumping right in this week, but first shout out to the men of Port Charles and those BOW TIES! Work!!

So by now, you all know how this goes. We’ll start at the bottom and work our way to the fabulousness. First up on my shit list is Sam Morgan. Sam wore a black gown (big shocker there…) that had a very deep V neck. The top of the gown was a cap sleeve, black sheer with black beadwork and had a nude lining. The bottom of the gown was A line and featured a small train. Don’t get me wrong it was a beautiful dress, just not for her. Sam is really tiny and that dress overwhelmed her. That particular dress was made for a taller woman and even if you get it fitted properly, you will still end up looking like a little girl playing dress up in mommy’s closet. I adored the cap sleeve, but once again, too much for Sam. The sleeve on the dress weighed it down visually. And her boobs have looked better. You know how you elderly aunt used to pinch your cheeks together when you were little? Yeah, you know where I’m going with this…no Bueno. #FashionFail.

Maxie, Maxie, Maxie. Oy, where do I begin? Ok, Maxie Jones looked beautiful. She knew who she was wearing, coordinated her man and had flawless hair. Why, you ask, is she a #FashionFail? Hold on! We’ll get there. Maxie’s white A line gown had a very intricate bodice completely covered in crystals and beadwork. The bottom of the gown was simple and flowy. Minimal jewelry, and bone straight hair with a side part completed her look. She failed when she forgot one very important thing. Something that a person introduced as a “fashionista” should always remember…Fashion FIRST, feelings later. WTF was she thinking?! When Spinelli stepped on her train, I thought I would have a heart attack. It served her right. You work the camera first, then work on that bitch with your man. All I can say is, at least her bra was clean and the right color…smh. Damn, girl.

Finishing off my disasters is Hayden Barnes. I know right? It shocked the hell out of me too!! When I saw her, I threw up a little bit…real shit. That gold, sleeveless maxi gown was fucking hideous. It was sparkly and had this oddly placed weird arrow-like detail (which was also sparkly). Her shoes were a gold/bronze tone strappy sandal and her jewelry was the same damn color. Hayden looked like she found a gold sack and bedazzled it herself, then had the nerve to call it a gown. She deserves to be a #FashionFail and needs to redeem herself stat. I am not a fan of matchy – matchy unless it’s a very light color. Gold/bronze tones are way too harsh to load up on in one ensemble. On top of that, the shape was horrendous. I don’t even have any suggestions for this abomination…I don’t know, pour gasoline on it and watch it burn?

There were so many beautiful looks on the red carpet this year. Honorable mentions go to Ellie Trout in that beautiful white satin, flower print gown, and Molly Davis-Lansing, in a completely sheer, aqua blue, cap sleeved mermaid gown. Once again, showing big sis how it’s done. “Bensonhurst Medium” Olivia Falconeri was dressed to perfection in a black, trumpet style gown. Her gown featured nude stripes that were vertical along the bust and horizontal down the length of the skirt. This look is #FashionForward because it allows her to take advantage of the sheer trend without looking like a hot pregnant mess. She is actually completely covered, but giving the illusion that you can see underneath. Add a perfect fit, some Old Hollywood glamour hair and makeup and you’ve got yourself a look that’s Maternity Sheek.

I was so impressed with Valerie Spencer’s look! When I saw her gown, I DIED!!! She wore the only two piece gown on the carpet and rocked the hell out of it. A white lace, sleeveless crop top paired with a high waisted pink satin mermaid skirt with white, green and pink flower print. Val finished her look with long chandelier earrings and gave her ponytail style an edge with lots of height up top! OMG, Valerie looked gorgeous. Two piece gowns are a fast catching, #FashionForward trend and not many people have the body to pull it off (Did you see those abs?) I usually don’t like two piece gowns because it’s technically not a gown. But, Valerie’s dress changed my mind. She managed to look very elegant and the shade of pink looked amazing on her.

My Fashion Muse and final look is Ms. Lucy Coe. I. AM. OBSESSED. Her red carpet look stole the show for me. Lucy wore a white ball gown, (If you didn’t get it last time, I’ll say it again. WHITE is the color of the season. Please do yourself a favor a buy a lot of it. Your welcome!), with a sequined top and a plunging V back. The skirt of the gown was a pleated satin. It made her look like a queen on the carpet. Lucy’s dangle earrings had two diamond loops and a pearl at the bottom. She also rocked the ponytail, except her pony was better. LOL The hair was twisted downward and then secured into the ponytail with a pearl band, which gave the hairstyle a more upscale look. At first glance, I was wondering where the hell her hand was and then I almost fell out when I realized that I almost missed the most #FashionForward part of her gown. IT HAD POCKETS!!! Holy shit, I LIVE for gowns with pockets! Pockets scream casual but the dress says otherwise. Only the most confident of fashionistas can rock this on the red carpet WITH the hands in the pockets and not look frumpy. Lucy Coe…You better work, bitch! Flawless.
That’s a wrap for this installment of Soap Star Styles. Thanks for reading! As always, let me know what you think! Do you agree? What did you love? What did you love to hate? Check back here with me this weekend for more fashion fun! Muah!
