Though Days of our Lives managed to sneak ahead of General Hospital and briefly stole spot number three on the list of most-watched daytime dramas, the ABC soap has rebounded and reclaimed its position on the list.
General Hospital has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season, including the fact that it managed to climb back up in the ratings, no longer being the least watched daytime drama. The ratings for the abridged Thanksgiving week (Monday, November 23 through Wednesday November 25) saw GH land back in third position, with a total of 2,822,000 viewers tuning in for the fallout of the long-awaited Jason (Billy Miller) reveal and the annual Quartermaine Thanksgiving. Days of our Lives, on the other hand, focused on the aftermath of Bo's (Peter Reckell) death and managed to pull in 2,813,000 viewers. Although the NBC soap fell back into the position of least-watched daytime drama, it scored the highest by far in the coveted women 18-34 category out of all the soaps, adding 52,000. The Young and the Restless pulled in 4,796,000 total viewers, while The Bold and the Beautiful drew in 3,508,000 viewers, which kept both CBS soaps in the first and second position, respectively.
